Dolls houses that are suitable for children need to be strong and durable and have no small parts that might break off. The wood that they are made from is very important and what the windows and doors are made from.

If you are looking for a dolls house for child you really should be looking for a house made from MDF. MDF houses are very stable and durable, they will also not splinter as the wood is man made from saw dust. MDF provides a very smooth surface which gives dolls houses an excellent finish and makes them safe for your child to play with.

Plywood houses are also available but I would not recommend these for children as the wood is much thinner and more likely to break and the edges can splinter.

Plastic windows or thick wooden windows made from MDF are also the safest for children.
